Wrapping cable coils with accessible identification

Support the coil in a stable position and apply an overlapping pattern that protects the required surfaces. Keep the product and handling labels accessible. Secure the end using the agreed method and check for loose sections that may snag. Follow the equipment and site handling rules when moving the wrapped coil.

Prepare the coil and remove loose debris from the surfaces to be covered. Make sure the cable ends are arranged as required by the packing instruction. The wrap should protect a stable coil, not be used to correct an unsafe arrangement.

Apply the covering consistently around changes in curvature and check that overlapping sections remain in place. Keep the coil reference and any directional marking visible. Do not obstruct an approved handling point without reviewing the method with the responsible team.

Check the secured end and the lower contact area after moving the coil. Record recurring looseness or abrasion with photographs of the same locations. Review the wrap pattern or supporting arrangement when damage appears repeatedly at one point.
